Five Ideas for daily Routines
March 12, 2026Self-care is something we have to learn. And the same goes for creativity: if I want to be creative, I need to refill my “creative well.”
A few years ago, I created what I call a “treat-yourself list.”
I kept noticing that whenever I did something that made me feel really good, I would think, “Why don’t I do this more often?”
So I made a list.
It’s very simple, and I saved it on my phone so it’s always there when I need a little reminder. Of course, you can also print it out and put it somewhere you’ll see it regularly.
Maybe start with this question:
What helps you relax, recharge, and let your mind wander?
Create a mind map around that question. For now, just collect ideas. They can be very simple things, like “drink my favorite tea” or “read an intriguing book.”
Write down everything that comes to mind.
Think about things you’ve enjoyed doing over the past 5–10 years, as well as things you’ve always wanted to do or try.
Now turn your ideas into your own treat-yourself list.
Create two columns: one for the activities or experiences, and one showing whether they cost a little, a lot, or nothing at all.
This helps you see just how many things cost little or nothing—and how many of them you can easily give yourself more often.
Make it your goal to choose at least one thing from your list every week.
Enjoy!
